The best way to learn the tumbi is not to copy songs other artists and musicians have played, that way is very confusing. The easier way to learn how to play is to buy a tumbi get somebody with an ear for music to strum it up so it plays a correct key without pressing anything and practise without playing any keys whatsoever until you know you can master a systematic beat which is not only consistent in terms of sound but variation as well. Donraja has improvised a few tracks for you all however if anyone sits there trying to play those they will never understand what the elements behind actually playing are nor will they get anywhere with it? I myself play four finger tumbi to a semi professional status yet still have far to go to be as good as the popular players out there and my work has featured on various tracks not only in the bhangra/desi industry. To be a successful tumbi maestro you must be able to tune in to the basics such as a constant basic note without any keys or you will find people switching at you as well as yourself getting frustrated as it will sound very whack ... However later down the line the composition from other tracks such as mundiyan tu bach ke and jind mahi will seem a hell of a lot easier.
