Looking after your Dhol?

Hi there, I got my new dhol today, I beated it a few times to make sure it was ok and checked it and then did a Hindu Puja type thing to make sure it stays good, I wanted to know how do you guys look after your dhols?

as long as you treat your dhol well, no treatment is needed.

if it has rope release the tension after each time you play it and put it bass side down

i try never to place my dhols on the floor to keep it safe from objects on the floor any crap plus out of respect, try to store ur dhols in rooms with a constant temperature, fluctuating temp is a bad thing for dhols ummm keep away from moist/damp atmosphere.. if u have the time to detune ur dhols when not using them (keeping them in key tho, dont let them go out of tune)..hmmm

i usually just put mine back in its case or on top of the case. i hate puttin ma dhol on the floor.

just simple things u need to remember....
1) keep ur dhol in a cool dry area
2) try not to place it on the tilli side but rather on the dagga side or best of all just place it back in a dhol bag
3) loosen the ropes after playing
and yeah i guess thats about it
