Unhappy Au revoir Thierry Henry

after the countless amount of speculation linking theirry henry with barcelona in the past year, Thierry Henry and Arsenal FC have admitted to put him on his way to sign a 4-year contract at Camp Nou after passing his medical on Monday at the sum of £16 million...one of the greatest strikers to hail in the premiership off to barca for less than darren bent??? lolllll either darren bent is ridiculously over-priced or arsenal have been mugged for their "talismen", i think both lol

the main reason henry says he has taken this decision is because of the departure of the gunners vice-chairman david dein which in turn has also made arsene wenger's future look quite gritty, with arsene himself admitting to consider his options after seeing off the remaining year left on his contract.

This is what Henry had to say:
"Arsene has been part of my life for as long as I can remember,"

"Unfortunately and understandably he has said that at this moment he will not commit to the club past the expiration of his current deal which finishes at the end of the coming season.

"I respect his decision and his honesty but I will be 31 at the end of next season and I cannot take the chance to be there without Arsene Wenger and David Dein.

"This is solely my decision, no-one has forced me to do anything and I will represent myself in this transaction. I feel it is something I just had to do."

"I will miss the Arsenal fans dearly, they have supported me through thick and thin.

"They will always be in my heart, as will all the fans who make the game here so special. I will always have a special bond with Arsenal Football Club."

some people believe the departure of david-dein is just an excuse and henry just wants to be apart of the "galactico" that is hyped around barcelona. others believe what he is saying is genuine and he shouldn't be criticised because he's been a loyal player and has given alot to the club.

can henry be replaced?...will someone be able to fill in his boots.. like henry did for ian wright back in '99?

yeah they got mugged lol...but then again i think thierry henry's gone past his peak now..i'm not ruling him out, he is still a quality player but u have to move on. i just hope wenger gets some quality signings this summer and doesnt splash out on french 10 year olds lol..it's nice to have loads of youths coming through but u also need some experience and maturity in the team

i dont think hes past his peak, he could have given a lot more, look at beckham, hes 31/32 and is in great form..

I will miss him because he was a fantastic player..

i wonder what the odds are for barca v arsenal next season in the champions league

yeah true, his last season was injury ridden...and even then in 17 appearences he scored 10 times, but he'll need to make a big impact when he gets there because its quite competitive upfront in the barca squad..i'm sure he'll be higher on the pecking list than gudjohnson and saviola (he's likely to be off anyway) but that still leaves him competing with ronaldinho, eto'o, messi.

being a liverpool it shouldnt bother me as much but it does that henry is leaving he is an asset to watch in the premiership... but it would be nice to see how he gets on with the talented players at barca... as he said sadly it has to be now that he leaves but he has given arsenal a good time to watch his skill... let see how he does with the likes of Ronaldinho..messi and eto'o

barca got a wiked team now.... ronaldinho on da left messi on da right and up front eto and henry...dats sik... i think dat da arsenal big games against liverpool(da best team) and those other teams like man united and chelsea will become a bit shit...

it looks liek arsenal gonna be a chalangin for like middle of da tables...now its time for someone like spurs 2 be in da champions league

Sad to see him go but i think its for the best not only for him but the club, his done his best and needs a new challenge. We still got a few youngers PLUS VP and ADI who can do the job. Also there is a chance we could bring in a few new players in, all is not lost.

Just like to see you lot eat your words during the season.

their all a bunch of youths if you ask me, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. but they need experience. i mean look at walcott, he's not that great from the hype created about him.
