JVC TH-L1 5.1 Surround System For Gamers and Home Theater, Too
JVC rolled out the TH-L1 entertainment surround system designed to plug into gaming consoles, and it's iPod friendly, too. But gaming is not all it does. Even though it costs $299.95, around 150.00 quid, this 5.1 setup still has two HDMI inputs and rocks out 40 watts per channel for the two front speakers, 100 watts for the center channel and subwoofer and 40 more watts for each of its two rear speakers.

In The Future, no one will die and everyone will be skinny, but we will still all have horrible credit card debt. Hence Jacob Palmborg designing [big voice] The Credit Card of the Future.
While it's strictly a concept, the credit card uses RFID that's linked to every account you own. It not only allows you to easily control purchases, but the card tracks said purchases and projects your economic status as a result. Plus, the unit features biometric security that could realize the potential of carrying various forms of ID...should the government ever let that happen.
The concept is good—now let's attach the phone and call it a day/real invention.

This a damn cool bot,,, when will i invent somefing like this??// any way, harnessing the power of a vacuum in much the same way your eighth-grade hovercraft did, Vortex's Mobile Robot Platforms can scale walls and other hard surfaces with full mobility. Potential payloads include cameras, microphones and anything you're willing to weld onto the back of a high tech RC car. Equipped with "semi-secure wireless communications" capabilities, these little spybots can creep into places your telescoping bipod can't. Privacy be damned; if you can't hear a miniature car vacuuming its way across your walls,,you deserve to get caught.

South Korea's Iljin Display has been crowing about its coin-sized laser projector module for more than a year with no haps, but now the company says it's inked a deal with South Korea Telecom (SK Telecom) to mass-produce the projector for use inside cellphones. Is Iljin's so-called Nano Projector finally for real?
Iljin says the diminutive projector will be installed in SK Telecom's cellphones beginning this September, and those pocket-theater-toting cellphones will be for sale both in Korea and perhaps even here in the US soon thereafter.
The company blurted out even more bluster about the future of its of its pint-sized projectors, saying by the end of this year it will begin cranking out tiny stand-alone units that'll let you set up an 800-pound milligram-ish guerrilla theater with a 20-inch screen virtually anywhere you want. We'll believe it when we see it.

Evil Mad Scientist's disclaimer that this little project "just isn't safe" kind of lowballs the danger level involved, since you're basically plugging your hot dog directly into a power outlet.
To be more precise, you alligator clip two forks, which you shove into the hot dog, into a wall socket (or power strip, which would be moderately safer). Wait about two minutes for a snap, crackle and pop—you have yourself a cooked dog, which you can eat or shove LEDs into (pictured).
Definitely recommended if your barbecue gets rained out and you can't shoot any fireworks to spark that annual family trip the emergency room

Thanko, that provider of all things gimmicky but good, has just launched another surprisingly useful tool, this time the FMP3 Watch. As the name suggests, we're talking combo MP3 (and WMA too) player and FM transmitter.
That's surely enough to make even Mr. Bond a bit envious (although I'm sure those innards would be packed in something from Omega, or whoever the sponsor for the next film ends up being). The watch not only plays files and do the iTrip-thing, great for car travel, but also includes a voice recorder—perfect for on-the-street podcast recordings—as well as line-in recording. Capacity runs three sizes (512MB, 1GB, 2GB), and transfers are done through the included USB cables (USB 2.0 port on the watch). It's even water resistant! Thank you, Thanko. [Thanko RareMono Shop]

To better protect hard drives in mobile devices, from laptops to cameras, Sony has issued a patent on a mini liquid airbag. And here's how it works.
A water or silicon oil bag surrounds the drive like a skin. "Biasing units" connect the hard drive to the bag, maintaining the drive's orientation under duress. Meanwhile, the bag has an inner lining of irises. When the bag is put under pressure, these irises are pushed closer together, creating more bag resistance by putting more pressure on the liquid.
So as we understand it, the "airbag" never actually deploys, but is always wrapped around the protected device. As long as liquid is being used, we'd love to see this technology tied in to cooling systems. Two birds, one airbag. We're just wondering if they use really tiny dummies for testing.

iPhonize Your PSP With iPSP
Ohh...that new iPhone you got is really nice. Yeah, really! Did you stand in line? Good thinking, even if it cost you your job. What's this I have here? Oh, nothing. Just something I call the iPhone. No, of course it doesn't look like yours. I would never be caught with consumer-grade tech. Is it better? Of course it's better. Let me ask you a question: does your iPhone play UMDs?? Didn't think so. Bitch. You can find the video on youtube on how to change ur PsP into ipsp. sorry i couldnt be arsed.

Check out this transforming cellphone concept found over at Parkoz Hardware. It turns into a little bi-pedal bot, complete with twin miniguns. Definitely reminiscent of scenes from Michael Bay's Tranformers, with a little bit of Batteries Not Included, Short Circuit, and Robocop (ED-209, anyone?) Koreans get the coolest cellphones, so it figures their concepts are going to be kick-ass, too. Video of the miniguns chewing up a desk.
