1) When you were growing up, were you good or mischievous?

Growing up in West London inevitably brought me a lot of interesting experiences.
Was I mischievous? I would have to say yes, but no more or less than any of the kids I grew up with. At school I excelled in music, more so than any of the traditional academic subjects, I always found it easy to be motivated in those classes. The only subject I enjoyed was music and I used to behave in there.

At home, with hindsight I can say I was probably a little bit of a nuisance. Being of a curious nature I would dismantle and dissect things to see how they worked. I was always breaking something because I was always curious and climbed on cupboards and jumping on beds. I loved it

2) Name two countries in the world you like most & why?

I would be hard pushed to find two favourite countries in the world, I regard myself as an internationalist. I have been fortunate enough to have travelled to most corners of the world and would say there is no place on the planet where I have not found something that I find inspiring and beautiful.
It would however be a lie to say that India and the UK did not hold a special place in my heart.

First of all I love India. I’m probably one of a few British born Asians that do. I feel I get so much more respect and people appreciate my work more there when in the UK. I just spent 3 months on tour all over India this year and I enjoyed every single day.

Second country has to be USA. I love the weather, and there is so much to do. You never can get bored there. I see America as another UK but with better weather. There is so much opportunity to make good money.

7) Who or what inspires you?

There are a manner of people and experiences that inspire me and in turn this conveyed through my work. For example whenever I meet Gurdas Mann, his character and attitude inspire me to be a better person. Business wise, Richard Branson inspires me as he is quite a hands on man and is constantly looking for ways to invigorate his empire. The way he built an empire when he had nothing was amazing. I am also inspired by The Neptunes, their production quality and arrangement style is quality. I like to learn from people’s good qualities.

8) At present, which artists do you admire?

From my previous answers you may have noticed Gurdas Mann poping up again and again, but besides him there are people like Kuldip Manak, Dr Dre, Jay Z, and AR Rehman

9) Most memorable moment in your career so far?

There are a few such as Work on the set of Pride and prdudiust.  Resently working on music for a new bollywood film. And performing infront of  over 35 000  people in India in one of the biggest mela’s held in Punjab.

10) Who would you like to be trapped on a dessert island with?

I never got the chance to meet Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan but if it were possible I would have liked to be have been trapped with such a master. I wouldlearn so much from him as his voice was so great.

12) If you could change one thing about yourself what would that be and why?

I am content with myself and am happy even with my bad points! There is nothing I would want to change. Whilst change is not a bad thing, I think one should sometimes accept what is given and work with it. Improve it, and develop it.
