STATE BANK OF INDIA SPONSORS SEFE DRINKS RECEPTION

State Bank of India (SBI) has puts its weight behind the Sankara Eye Foundation Europe’s new project - ‘Focus Punjab’, to sponsor the opening Drinks Reception. The Focus Punjab Charity Gala will be held on Saturday 20th November 2010 at Park Inn Hotel, Heathrow from 7.00pm till late. All the proceeds from this event will go towards building a new state-of-the-art eye hospital in Punjab, India.

Gurpreet Sanghera (SEFE event manager/fundraiser) said, “SEFE are proud to have SBI as sponsors for the Focus Punjab project. We thank the Bank for showing their support to our cause and for helping to eradicate curable blindness throughout India. SEFE hope to follow in the footsteps of SBI by dominating India with our mission. The mission being 20/20 which is to open 20 Sankara Eye Foundation hospitals all over India by 2020. We hope that SBI will follow and support SEFE through their mission throughout the whole” of India”.

Focus Punjab Project: Sankara Eye Foundation’s next big project is ‘Focus Punjab’. The vision is to set up a state of art Eye hospital in Ludhiana Punjab. In fact the project is well under way and on the 4th March 2010 the registration was completed for a 2-acre plot of land on the Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana, Punjab, India.

“Seeing is believing. A powerful statement which makes so much sense. While most of us take our eyesight for granted, there is someone somewhere who will never be able to find a way out of the darkness of their blindness. But when the selfless team of innovative thinkers at Sankara Eye Foundation, begin to build (brick by brick) a hospital, it gives birth to hope. A hope which can restore someone's eyesight. And so we at the State Bank of India take great pride in sponsoring Sankara's upcoming charity gala (Focus Punjab), which will enable many like-minded and caring people to gather together for a fantastic humanitarian project. While we at the State Bank of India witness the joy of investment in our client's eyes..... it would be even better to experience the joy of someone being able to get back their eyesight. Well done Sankara and i am confidant that Focus Punjab will be a delightful evening of conversation, cocktails and compassion” - Anil Arora (Manager - State Bank of India)
