Vix is definitely Vixin’ it up with this album. Identical 2 None has got an excellent mix of both traditional bhangra tracks and western influenced songs.
Top three Tracks:
- Paranda – Get ready to start clapping along with this one! It’s got an excellent dhol beat, complimented by the skilful vocals of Manjit Pappu. Don’t forget to join in with the Hoi Hoi Hois!!
- Punjabian Dee Tauhr –Dayyyyyyyyyym this is one fine track!! The explosion of Traditional bhangra instruments is unbelievable.. the dhol, the dhad, the tumbi, the algozey, the sarangi…. The list goes on and on!!!
- Nah Chahidee – This track sounds a little similar to Tin Cheejha from Zeus’s Unda da Influence … although with Lembher you can’t really go wrong with a track so still loving it and it’s still kicking it’s way in to my top three! Good bass …definitely one to have on hand when out in your cars cruising. ;o)
Other Tracks:
- Meri Jaan – an unusual track for a bhangra album – but it works thanks to the lyrics sang by Take Ova ENT.
- Jatt – Traditional lyrics sang by Manjit Pappu with a good dhol beat complimented by the use of the algozah. Liking the good old gun shot effect…..Bang bang!!
- Tappe – ooooh… I’m sure I heard something very similar a year ago!! Good lyrics sang my Lehmber, placed over the top of a traditional dhol beat. Liking the way the tracks switches beat part way through the song at the Aari Aari Aari bit.
- Puchhna – Not your traditional bhangra track – but still a good one to dance to. Interesting mix of three different vocalists, to a great beat.
- Jawani – Good catchy tune, with a beat move to with the lyrics of Manjit Pappu and MC Lyca.
- Chit Karda (Remix) - Loved this track first time round.. and still loving it! Heavier beat, louder sounds, overall fab track! from
- Desi Bolyian (bonus Track) – a little something extra form Vix’s previous album.
The one thing I don’t like is the title, cos it may be Identical 2 None... but a couple of the tracks are kind of similar!!! Would have given it 8… but going to have to mark it down to 7.5…ok maybe 7.75 out of 10. Overall, the vocals provided by Manjit Pappu and Lehmber, together with the variety of instruments make this an impressive album and definitely one worth buying.
